I liked the format, the rhythm scheme, and the flow of thought. The organization of the sentences and meaning within them worked well in the poem. I'm not a fan of poems that don't rhyme (what a stupidly spelled word, "rhyme") but this actually works well.

The change of verse at the very end finalizes the poem. It was well done, whether or not it was done somewhat in-the-moment or not. So basically, "This is good."

Thanks for posting with more information. The suprising thing about this poem, was I didn't really try to make it ryhme. I was more looking at how it flowed, I'm usually pretty bad at ryhming. I'd have to say this is probably my best about at ryhming and I wasn't really trying for it. Personally, I think the idea that every poem needs to ryhme that they seem to insist on in high school really took away my desire to try and ryhme. Anyways, in the case of this poem, I have to agree you your observations.

hey john i love the way you can express yourself in a way that people can understand. i remember in college you and i were the ones who really only said something when around close friends or when asked . u always seemed quiet. i love the poems you write because it's a part of you not everyone gets to see and i really hope you carry on with this art. also i agree with brendon awesome layout.

I really liked the poem. I'm sure wome other people can relate and don't think that poetry always has to rhyme. Sometimes the words are heartfelt and there may be others that can relate to that. I related because it reminded me of how I feel when I see my husband even after 16 years. Keep up the good work.
